PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Responsible for department’s undergraduate medical education programs including the Harvard Medical School core clerkship, and Northeastern Physician Assistant Program clinical rotation, Simmons Nursing program, and Boston University, Yale University, Frontier School of Midwifery Student Rotations, and Women’s Health electives for Mount Auburn Medical Residents. Schedules, orients and advises students and Residents. 2.Works with the Administrative Director and Chairman in planning of OB/GYN continuing medical education programs. Responsible for all aspects of organization, implementa¬tion and execution of Quarterly Seminars and Grand Rounds. 3.Books meetings for and maintains calendar of the Chairman. Answers and screens telephone calls, taking messages, providing information, and referring calls as appropriate. 4.Maintains departmental databases and files, consisting of correspondence,schedules, departmental minutes, and reports. 5.Answers telephone calls for departments of Ob/Gyn, taking messages, providing information, and referring calls as appropriate. 6.Performs secretarial duties and special projects for Chairman and Administrative Coordinator. 7.Arranges for service and maintenance requests for depart¬mental equipment (copier, computers, tele¬phones, bathrooms, etc.) distributes mail, and orders supplies and stationery as approved by Administrative Coordinator. 8.Is responsible for the collection and compilation of obstetrical projections for the Department of OB/GYN. 9.Organizes departmental functions: arrangements, catering, etc. 11.Schedules, orients and advises students in the Harvard Medical School core clerkship, and Northeastern Physician Assistant Program clinical rotation. 12.Maintains surgical schedule of BIDMC resident.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 1. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 2. Strong analytical ability and management skills normally acquired through college course work or administrative work experience. 3. Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with a diverse group of providers, administrative support personnel. Good written and verbal communication skills 4. Ability to take independently, including making decisions.
